*<*<*<*PAINT*>*>*>*

The kids make beads and paint them before stringing them, as well as little clay pots and imaginary creatures.

Treasure Boxes

The kids sanded and polished off some soft stone- to make little gems.

Treasure boxes were made out of sucker sticks and craft glue and once dry, painted and decorated.

CLAY (WEEK 2)

THE KIDS GET CREATIVE WITH CLAY -

These handmade chunky multi-colored beads are beautiful!

WEEK 2 MANHATTAN

Collages -

Elaine brought in some old photographs from the early 90's and the kids were asked to make animals or landscapes with the textures and colors of the photo's rather than the characters or scenes within the photo's themselves.

These came out great. I'd love to frame them and put them up.

LAST DAY (WEEK 1)

The kids are asked to choose their favorite artwork of the week.

At the Brooklyn studio there is a lovely garden in the back where the kids can explore and draw.

PLASTER RELIEFS

The kids make reliefs out of clay.
The clay sculptures are made into moulds with elgin and then filled with plaster to make new plaster reliefs.

STILL LIFES WEEK 1 BKLYN

The kids were given a simple still life to draw- an apple and transparent plastic bottle on a sheet of orange paper.
It's great to see how each child interprets it differently, in their own way.
